Samsung- A Company That Does Too Much Right

What do TVs, DVD and Blu-Ray players, cell phones, MP3 players, cameras, laptops, flash memory, hard drives, fridges, stoves, washing machines and microwaves all have in common? They are all manufactured by the largest electronics company, Samsung.

Samsung Electronics (a subsidiary of Samsung Group) was founded in 1969, originally manufacturing appliances such as TVs, calculators, refrigerators, air conditioners and washers. In 1988, it merged with Samsung Semiconductor & Communications and has become the leader in electronics manufacturing.

In 2005, Samsung surpassed Sony to be rated as the leading consumer electronics brand in the world. In 2007, the headset division overtook Motorola, making them the second-largest mobile phone maker. By the end of 2007, Samsung exceeded an annual sales of $100 billion and placed them among the top three companies in the electric appliances and electronics industry alongside Siemens, IBM and Hewlett-Packard.

Samsung has a reputation for putting out low cost cell phones that are simple and easy to use. With the library of smartphones coming out such as the Galaxy, Advance, Forever and Impact, Samsung is proving it won’t let go of it’s top spot in the electronics sector without a fight.
